Faith in the U.S. on the Rise

I was watching the evening news last night and they had incredible statistics on the Rise of Faith in the U.S., also in this were statistics that about 53% of Protestants, and some 60% of Catholics doubt the existance of God. Yet, are spending time in church. Ok

Then this morning I'm reading about Sen. Obama wooing Evangelicals as to increase his appeal to the Religious voter. Key words here are "increase appeal", I don't know about anyone else but in my little mind, the term wreaks of used car salesman ( no offense to the good honest ones out there), to increase appeal automatically sends up a flag that "I'm not about to give you what you want or need, but as long as you percieve that you are, I'll get what I want and need" and you get to pay for it. Hmmm, yep sounds pretty close to me.

I think I'll run for President in 2012... think anyone would vote for me?

June 21 Ride

Saturday, for the first time this season my wife and I were able to get away and ride together. It was about a 200 mile round trip with Jeff & Liz into Arkansas & back by way of the Peel Ferry. The bad thing about this month is the amount of rain. Yes, you guessed it, ran into thunderstorm weather on the way back. We didn't get too wet but did get chilly.

There is an ol' biker truth that "Only Bikers know why dogs hang their head out the window".
In this truth is the simple fact that for me, cruising through the Ozark Mountains with my Hog under me and my wife behind me and a friend beside me, just doesn't get any better. I cherish the time on the road, it's relaxing, relieves the stresses of the day and generally prepares you for a really nice nap for when you get home. Had some pretty tasty BBQ in Mountain Home, the roads were in pretty good shape, not too hot, not too cool, all around great day.
