Selmore Bike Run 2008

Not much writing today... the pic's speak for themselves... We had fun!

Pre-ride meeting, saftey, ride rules, and more important Prayer before the ride.

27 Bikes Kick stands up and ready to Roll!!!!!!

Here at Selmore Baptist Church we have held a Bike Run to support "Least of These" food pantry in Nixa. This year was the 3rd annual and it was a success!

Bill & Lance.... Blockers, sacraficial Lambs however you want to put it, these are the guys who put themselves in harm's way to keep the cagers from thumping us at intersections..
Thanks Guys!

I honestly wish I could say that I had a lot to do with it, but that just wouldn't be the truth.

So.. here is the truth along with some pretty good pic's
Our Summit Sunday School class sponsors this event and this year like the past years they have come through like the champs they are. Food prep., organization, set up.. you name it, they get-r-done. Thay make it so all we have to do is greet riders, have fellowship and spread the message of Christ where we can. Yep, without them, we would be bogged down with the details and never get to know the other riders. We couldn't do it without them.

you can make them out in the background

Thundering through the beautiful Ozarks

Quick rest break

All for the Son, and the Son for all... We're on the same team and it was an honor to have our brothers with Tribe of Judah along on this one.

Pastor Vernon Leighty, of Four Rivers Church and Pres. of Marshfield Chapter of
Tribe of Judah.

We managed to raise over 500.00 for the charity, we will consider it pretty good considering the economic strain on so many families. No one was hurt, no one died, all made it back safely to ride another day.

It is so nice to be part of a church that not only will let you put on these outreach events, but you have young and not so young in the church pitching in to help. I have so many pic's but only a small amount of space. I would love to include pic's of everyone but it just can't happen. However, there are two pic's that I have to include before I end.

That of da Sistas Liz & Angie, my dear wife,

and last but not least... Jeff & I with an old Englishman turned Colonist.
Victor. This guy is a barrel of fun, he's been to all three rides and has accompanied us on several others.

Have you heard about this:

Christian bikers being converted by the Angels, supposedly running drugs and doing violent crime? Strange.

unfortunately this happens. I'm sure it has happened w/ BFC somewhere down the line. In this case from what I've read, is simply this.
This guy got all caught up in his mission and forgot the prayer. There are many who start off on a mission from God then get in the way when they don't have an accountability partner, or simply neglect to consult the Father on a consistent basis. When what you are doing starts to become about you and what you are accomplishing, instead of about Him and what He is accomplishing.

From a world standpoint, he got frog in water syndrome.
